The Maker's Atelier Sewing Retreat will start with a One-Day Masterclass in different fabric constructions, covering classic knit and woven constructions as well as leathers and modern technical fabrics.
You will have swatches to work on and will choose a Maker’s Atelier pattern to make, and there will be one-to-one discussions with Frances Tobin and Claire Tyler, sewing expert and teacher, to help you decide on fabric choice.
The following day will start with a fabric shopping trip, then you will sew your pattern, learning techniques and tricks for working with fabrics to achieve professional finishes. Our aim is to give you the skills and confidence to make informed fabric choices, enabling you to produce more beautiful garments in your future sewing projects.

What's not included?
Your accommodation , You can choose to stay at Jury's Inn Hotel and enjoy breakfast and use of the Spa (there will be a discount on room rates)
Your travel expenses (there will be discounted parking available at the hotel)
The cost of dinner, eating at the Hotel or offsite is flexible.
Sewing machines - if traveling from abroad please email, sewing machines will be available to hire
The materials for your sewing project.
Bring along your own Sewing Box with tools etc.
Overlockers, irons and ironing boards will be available to use, there will also be interfacings and haberdashery available to purchase.

The Cost of The Maker's Atelier Retreat is £475, if you would like to reserve your place with a £100 deposit please let us know at tmaretreat@claire-tyler.com. The balance will be due on 1st March 2019.
