On this one day workshop you will learn the secrets of how a tailored jacket is constructed using traditional methods.

Find out about canvases, undrlinings and tapes and how to apply them to give shape to any style of jacket.

Practice the techniques by making a jacket front and a collar sample and take home notes and inspiration for your Tailored garment.

What You Need To Bring : The Sewing Room is fully equipped with Janome Sewing Machines and Overlockers as well as all the tools you need to complete your project. You are very welcome to bring your own machine and sewing box if you wish.

On this workshop you will learn some of the secrets of couture many of which are used in the classic cardigan jacket. From cutting out, tacking and hand stitching. Choosing which fabrics to use for linings, buttonholes as well well as what needles and threads to use. We will also look at how to make trims similar to those used on couture jackets.
