Claire's Yarns

Claire’s Yarns was established in 1999 when Claire and her mother Julie took over a fabric and wool store in Littlehampton, West Sussex. The Fabric Store supplied beautiful, quality hand knitting yarns, fabrics and haberdashery for over 12 years and involved the whole family, including Claire’s sister Emma and her daughters Amy and Alice.

Claire has always been a seamstress and offered dressmaking and alterations services so, when the girls grew up and Julie retired Claire started an online store and began running workshops teaching dressmaking.

Claire now runs the business from home which gives her much more flexibility for knitting, sewing and teaching and also means that Claire’s Yarns will be more widely available not only through the on line store but through knitting & stitching shows as well. It has always been really important to have customer contact so getting out and about to shows will be a big part of Claire’s Yarns.

Claire’s Yarns is still very much a family business, when you call it will probably be Claire who answers the phone or maybe her mum Julie (back from retirement to help out) or even Amy or Alice when they are home from their travels or university.

Our aim now with our new online store as it was with our physical shop has always been to Inspire you to be Creative
